Become A Mentor

Make a difference in a young person’s life by becoming a Seven Tepees mentor! As a mentor, you’ll be a role model for a youth who might not otherwise have long-term support from a caring adult.

Mentors and youth participate in a wide range of activities, including community service projects, sports events, and activities that explore different cultures. Each month, Seven Tepees provides a workshop or an outing for youth and their mentors. Workshops range from goal setting and learning about each other’s families and background, to taking aptitude tests together to see which career might be a good fit. Outings include Giants games, parks, and even an overnight backpacking trip. To create a mentoring relationship, our Volunteer Coordinator interviews youth and potential mentors to learn about their interests and what they are looking for in the relationship. When a match is ready, the parents, student, and mentor all come together to meet each other and ensure a good match.
